Sigur Rós

Sigur Rós have just announced two major concerts in Portugal . The Icelandic band will perform on September 13th at the Coliseu Porto AGEAS , and on September 17th at the Sagres Campo Pequeno , accompanied by the Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra and the Ricercare Choir.

The Lisbon and Porto shows are part of a unique world tour, in which Sigur Rós perform alongside local orchestras to play their latest album, ÁTTA , while revisiting some of the most memorable moments of their career. The setlist also includes tracks from Takk… , one of the band's most cherished albums, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Kjartan Sveinsson , the piano player, says: "We are very excited to return to orchestral concerts in September. It's always very special to be in the middle of an orchestra, surrounded by so many fantastic musicians with whom we have played for the last four years."

Since 2022, Sigur Rós have incorporated orchestral accompaniment as a central element of their concerts, and since then, the three band members have performed alongside full orchestras in major concert halls throughout Europe and North America.

Described as " an expression of beauty almost beyond comprehension," Sigur Rós concerts are simultaneously intense and indescribable. And that's what we expect from the band's two concerts in Portugal, on September 13th at Coliseu Porto AGEAS and on September 17th at Sagres Campo Pequeno.
