Simple Minds are returning to Portugal in April 2027. The Scottish band will take to the stage at Sagres Campo Pequeno in Lisbon, where they will perform on April 6th.

With a career spanning almost five decades, Simple Minds continue to establish themselves as one of the most relevant and consistent bands in British music. Throughout this journey, they have built a unique identity, marked by great songs, memorable performances, and a constant ability to reinvent themselves without losing the essence that made them one of the most recognized bands of their generation.

It is with this same energy that Simple Minds now return to Portugal to present Sacrosanct , their new studio album, scheduled for release on January 29, 2027.

In Sacrosanct , the band deepens the complicity built over decades, revisiting the magic, ambition, and grandeur that have always been at the heart of their identity. The new work emerges as another chapter in an extraordinary musical story and as a demonstration of the creative vitality of a band that continues to look to the future.

Regarding the choice of the album title, Jim Kerr, vocalist of Simple Minds, explains: “We called the album Sacrosanct because, after a lifetime dedicated to this — almost fifty years of writing songs together — it stopped feeling like a career and became something closer to faith. Calling the album Sacrosanct is not an exaggeration. It's simply honest.”

Sacrosanct follows Direction of the Heart (2022), an album that spawned a critically acclaimed documentary about the band's career, a joint autobiography, and an extensive international tour, and Walk Between Worlds (2018). Together, these works represent an important chapter in the history of Simple Minds, who continue to create new music and bring it to stages around the world.

Jim Kerr adds: “Making records and performing live is as much a part of our lives today as it was when we started. We are grateful to everyone who supports the new Simple Minds music and we look forward to seeing you all on our upcoming world tour.”

The new world tour features 35 dates and will be the band's biggest arena tour, celebrating nearly 50 years of their career, the great classics that have spanned generations, and the new music that continues to define Simple Minds' journey.

Since the late 1970s, the Scottish band has maintained a unique relationship with its audience, combining the power of its most iconic songs with a live energy that remains intact. Now, in 2027, Simple Minds return to the road to celebrate five decades of music — and Portugal is once again part of that journey.
