RUI VELOSO CELEBRATES 45 YEARS OF CAREER ACCOMPANIED BY THE GNR SYMPHONIC BAND
Rui Veloso, one of the greatest names in Portuguese song, celebrates four and a half decades of his career with a unique concert on November 28th at Sagres Campo Pequeno in Lisbon. This show features the special participation of the GNR Symphonic Band and unique arrangements by John Beasley - award-winning American jazz musician and composer and director of the Monterey Jazz Festival, known for his work with Miles Davis and Steely Dan, among many others. This will be a unique moment celebrating Rui Veloso's unparalleled legacy in Portuguese music, but also the history of Portuguese popular music itself. Regarding the band's return, Rushmere is where it all began for Mumford & Sons. The lake, located in Wimbledon Common, southwest London, was the meeting point for Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane, where they first conceived the idea of forming a band. Rushmere is as familiar to them as the instruments they played and is central to their origin story. RUSHMERE marks the beginning of a new phase for Mumford & Sons, following an intense period of creativity for the trio. The album was produced by nine-time Grammy winner Dave Cobb and recorded at RCA Studio A in Nashville, Savannah, Georgia, and Marcus' studio in Devon, United Kingdom. The band, beloved by the Portuguese public, will perform at Sagres Campo Pequeno on November 25th of this year, with an unmissable show.
