Placebo have just announced a concert in Portugal, marking the start of their 30th anniversary tour. The band will perform on September 29th at Sagres Campo Pequeno in Lisbon.
Celebrating three decades since the release of their groundbreaking debut album, the legendary alternative rock band presents Placebo RE:CREATED, a powerful reinterpretation of the record that launched them to fame in 1996. The album will be released on June 19, 2026.
Regarding this moment, the band states: “This is a celebration of where we started and the meeting point between who we were and who we are today. It’s a way of honoring that innocence, while letting the songs exist with the dimension, confidence, and energy of the band we’ve become.”
Since their debut in 1996, Placebo immediately stood out in British rock culture for their ambiguous, glamorous, and provocative aesthetic, challenging traditional norms of gender and masculinity at a time when these issues were not yet part of the public debate. This distinctive identity was crucial to the band's success and longevity, building a solid and influential career over three decades.
With the Placebo 30th Anniversary Tour, the group embarks on a series of 36 concerts across Europe, performing the greatest hits from their first two albums — Placebo and Without You I'm Nothing — including songs that haven't been played live in over 20 years.
