Megadeth returns to Portugal to close the 2027 European leg of their farewell tour. The show is scheduled for April 13, 2027 at SAGRES Campo Pequeno in Lisbon, with Black Label Society and Testament as support acts. The date is not just another stop on an extensive itinerary: Lisbon will be the final European stop of a multi-year tour with which the band led by Dave Mustaine is traveling the world for the last time, transforming the Lisbon arena into the stage for the closing of a chapter that will not reopen.
The tour has a name: Breakout: Hibernation Of The Nations. Starting on March 9, 2027 in Belfast, the European leg extends across a total of 24 dates in arenas throughout the UK and mainland Europe, crossing France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, Italy and Spain before ending in Lisbon. This is the next chapter in a global farewell designed to give fans around the world — across multiple continents and over several years — the opportunity to see MEGADETH live one last time. "This isn't goodbye," says Dave Mustaine. "It's a celebration of everything we've built together over the last four decades. Each city has its own story, each audience has given us unforgettable memories, and we want to come back to celebrate that with the fans who made it all possible."

Megadeth arrive at this tour at an unprecedented moment in their career. Their self-titled album, "Megadeth," released on January 23, 2026, as the band's seventeenth and final studio album, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200—the first time this has happened in over four decades of activity. The album simultaneously topped seven Billboard charts and reached the Top 5 in 22 countries, with number ones in eleven international markets, including the UK, France, Germany, Poland, and Australia. The European tour will visit 12 of the 22 countries where the album entered the Top 5, making the tour a direct extension of the album's commercial impact. The lineup arriving at Sagres Campo Pequeno is not that of a band in decline—it's a band that will conclude its work at the peak of global visibility.

E, as if that weren't enough, MEGADETH aren't coming to Lisbon alone: BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and TESTAMENT complete a lineup with substance of their own, and their presence on this tour was a deliberate choice. "Black Label Society and Testament are bands we have enormous respect for," says Dave Mustaine. "Having them with us makes these concerts even more special. This lineup represents decades of heavy music, and it's going to be an extraordinary night for the fans."

Founded in 1983 by Dave Mustaine after his departure from Metallica, Megadeth are part of the "Big Four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. Across seventeen studio albums, they have sold over 50 million records worldwide and received thirteen Grammy nominations, winning in 2017 in the 'Best Metal Album' category with "Dystopia". Titles such as "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due", "Symphony of Destruction", and "Tornado of Souls" have long since transcended the metal circuit and become references in 20th-century popular music.
