SE SE PUDESSEM SENTIR OS OBJETOS

Se se pudessem sentir os objetos, uma mancha de azul seria mar, seria sal nos lábios, seria brisa na cara e cheiro de praia pela manhã. Um desenho animado seria infância, seria dor nas bochechas de riso compulsivo, seria um joelho esfolado e um abraço apertado de braços maiores que as nossas pernas. Pelos olhos consumimos imagens, que algures dentro de nós, a meio caminho entre o cérebro e o coração, tropeçam em nervos, células e sentimentos e por explosão imberbe, sem destino ou constrição, disparam em direções incertas. Um cheiro, um toque, uma imagem vívida.

Se se pudessem sentir os objetos é sobre essa faísca comum, o desencadeador de memórias e de espaços partilhados. Comum em estímulo e inversamente distinta em forma e resultado, particular a cada um. Memórias coletivas são repositórios de imagens, histórias ou mitos partilhados entre grupos, nesta exposição, os artistas estudam de uma forma ou outra aquilo que temos em comum, quer pelo sonho, o inconsciente, o ícone ou até por uma ida à praia. 

If only you could feel objects...

If only you could feel objects, a splash of blue would be sea, it would be salty lips, it would be a breeze on the face and the smell of the beach in the morning. A cartoon would be childhood, it would be pain in the cheeks from compulsive laughter, it would be a skinned knee and a tight hug from arms bigger than our legs. Through the eyes we consume images, which somewhere inside us, halfway between the brain and the heart, trip over nerves, cells and feelings and by immature explosion, without destination or constriction, shoot off in uncertain directions. A smell, a touch, a vivid image.

If only you could feel objects is about that common spark, the trigger of memories and shared spaces. Common in stimulus and inversely distinct in form and outcome, particular to each of us. Collective memories are repositories of images, stories or myths shared between groups, in this exhibition, the artists study in one way or another what we have in common, whether through the dream, the unconscious, the icon or even a trip to the beach.
